A motorway bridge in Karkar area of Pul-e-Khumri city was handed over to use at a cost of 30 million Afghanis from German aid.
Ghulam Rasool Irfan, Head of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department in Baghlan, said the bridge was 27 meters long and 9 meters wide, which would solve the problems of about 4,000 families and have a direct impact on the local economy.
He added that residents of Karkar previously faced many challenges during the floods season and waited for hours for the flood flashes to stop.
Baghlan Governor Akbar Barakzai stated during the inauguration of the project that next year they plan to implement dozens of public projects in different sectors based on demands in the provincial capital and districts.
At the same time, a number of locals are happy with the construction of the bridge and call on the government and the international community to build schools, clinics and roads in their neighborhoods.
In recent years, Germany has implemented several projects in the fields of agriculture, health and education in Baghlan.
