Gorash’s 42nd establishment anniversary cherished in Jowzjan

The 42nd anniversary of the establishment of Gorash monthly was celebrated by Borders and Tribal Affairs Department of Jowzjan.
Mohammad Agha, the magazine’s CEO, said it was the first Turkmen-language publication to cover political, social and cultural issues.
According to him, Gorash magazine, which has been operating without interruption since its launch, is now published within the frame of Borders and Tribal Affairs Department and is printed in one thousand copies per month and distributed free of charge in Helmand, Balkh, Faryab and Kabul provinces and areas where Turkmens reside.
Azimullah Rahmaniar, Head of Information and Culture Department of Jowzjan, while considering the activity of the magazine effective in the development of Turkmen language and literature, stated that currently ten publications are active in the province some which cannot print their products on time.
Officials maintain that Gorash was started as a weekly in 1978 by Printing and Publishing Committee led by Sayed Mohammad Sediqi Amini, which initially printed and distributed 4,000 copies.
