Officials of Faryab Public Health Department announced the start of operation of the second COVID-19 testing center in Maimana city, the capital of the province.
The center was inaugurated yesterday in a ceremony by provincial governor and a number of local officials.
Dr. Mohammad Naem Musamim, Public Health Director in Faryab, said the new testing center was built with the help of the World Bank at a cost of about $150,000.
“The center has the capacity of up to 150 tests in 24 hours,” Musamim added.
The second testing center for coronavirus was inaugurated in Maimana while the first one was opened a while ago in Andkhoy district of Faryab with support from Turkmenistan.
