The online application process for electronic ID cards started this morning in Baghlan province.
Mohammad Arif Azimi, Head of Statistics and Information Authority in the province, said that in the past eight months, more than 30,000 people have registered to receive electronic ID cards in the province.
He added that about 500 people registered in-person on a daily basis, but there are no restrictions in the online system and the needs of the people are better addressed.
Meanwhile, residents of Baghlan welcome the beginning of this process and call it effective in solving the existing problems.
According to officials in Baghlan’s statistics authority, with the commencement of online application system for obtaining electronic ID cards, all applicants can easily get national ID cards.
