Jowzjan hosts open dialogue between government, civil society

An open dialogue was held between the government and civil society to resolve problems in Jowzjan province.
The meeting was attended by a number of government officials, civil activists, journalists and representatives of Sheberghan.
Governor of Jowzjan, Mohammad Hashim Rais, said the aim of the dialogue was to strengthen mechanisms for participation and coordination between civil society and local government in regard to governance, security and development, and to address the demands of people.
Meanwhile, a number of participants expressed satisfaction with government’s achievements and efforts in providing useful services to the people, but criticized non-implementation of public projects in the province, and called on the local government to pay attention to their needs.
At the end, provincial governor stated that the local administration will fully support the suggestions and ideas of civil activists that lead to progress and welfare of the people, saying that necessary measures will be taken in this regard.
