A number of money changers in Samangan province have closed their offices due to restrictions imposed by Da Afghanistan Bank.
Nematullah, a money changer in Samangan, told the media that money changers are a hard-working class in the community and Da Afghanistan Bank should not implement European banking laws in Afghanistan. Money changers do not have the power to stick to destructive restrictions of the central bank, he added.
Waisuddin, another money changer in the province, said the closure of private money changers was a concern and that it was causing financial losses for investors. He added that they will continue to protest until the restrictions by Da Afghanistan Bank have been lifted.
He made money transfers through exchange offices, but now he is facing a serious problem, Mohammad Nasir Moradi, a resident of Aibak stated, calling on the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
For the past two weeks, all money exchange offices in Samangan have closed their doors because of restrictions imposed by the central bank and demand the lifting of these limitations.
