Local officials in Baghlan province say that 93 large and more than 230 small development projects have been completed and put into operation in the province this year.
Ikramuddin Barfaki, Head of sectors at Baghlan Governor House, stated the projects were in the fields of agriculture, health, education, employment and road maintenance, and were completed in the center and districts of Baghlan.
The projects have solved problems of thousands of families and provided jobs for local residents, he added.
At the same time, Mohammad Akbar Barakzai, Baghlan Governor, says next year’s development plan will implement dozens of large and small projects in the province.
Mr. Barakzai called the cooperation of people important in rehabilitation and asked them to collaborate earnestly with the government in protecting public projects.
Residents in the province are optimistic about the application of development projects in their areas and assure the government and donors that people will not allow any individual or group to hinder advancement and reconstruction in their province.
Baghlan’s development plan includes around 2,000 projects, which, according to officials, will be implemented within the next five years.
