For the first time in the city of Sheberghan, a woman was appointed PD5 in charge.
Second Lieutenant Noor Delawari, who has been serving in the police force in Jowzjan province for six years, was appointed as PD5 in charge in Sheberghan in an unprecedented move.
Brig. Gen. Khawaja Ghulam Jilani Abubakr, Jowzjan Police Commander, said that based on the order of the Ministry of Interior and decision of the provincial governor, Delawari was appointed in the new position.
While expressing satisfaction with the ability of women in the ANP, Jilani Abubakr stated that he would cooperate with female officers in under any circumstances.
Jowzjan Governor Hashem Raes also welcomed the Interior Ministry’s new selection.
According to Jowzjan Police Commander, more than 100 women are currently working in police ranks in the province, with an active role in securing the city and detaining terrorist groups.
