Afghanistan Child Foundation condemned yesterday’s attack on students of Sayid al-Shuhada school in Kabul in the presence of Balkh children at a rally in Mazar-e-Sharif city.
Denouncing the attack, Maryam Karimi, Head of Child Foundation, stated that children are the future of a country.
“Enemy knows that the new generation will fight with their pens in the not-too-distant future, so they will kill students without any guilt,” said Karimi.
She described the situation as worrying, maintaining that every day five children are killed in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, children chanted slogans such as “You burned my body, do not burn my books, what is our crime?” They also uttered that children should not be victims of dirty politics.
These children warned that armed opponents of the government will not get to their goals by killing students, and that children will sprout and build the future of their country.
On the other hand, civil activists in Balkh accused the government of “recklessness” in providing security, saying nearly 20 attacks had been carried out in Dasht-e Barchi of Kabul in the past five years and the government had failed to secure the area.
More than 150 students were killed and wounded in multiple explosions near Sayed al-Shuhada school in Kabul yesterday.
